Hi Friends!
If you followed the “Letters through 2 Corinthians” series, you’ve seen a glimpse of the ways God has used 2 Corinthians in my heart and life… and so I’m especially excited to share the 2 Corinthians Bible study with paid subscribers this week! You can find out more about the studies here and sign up for those at the link below. :)
Here’s a bit of detail:
It’s 30 lessons long. As usual, there are observation, interpretation, and application questions along with written teaching. My church in Richmond did about 2-3 lessons a week for a total of 14 weeks, that’s one way to do it! You could also spread it out more and have a little less homework each week, for example you could do two 10-week studies or two 12-week studies. (Message me for more ideas or questions on that):).
It’s divided into two parts— Part one covers 2 Corinthians 1-7 and Part 2 covers 2 Corinthians 8-13.
Here’s a summary…
“The Apostle Paul was transformed by the gospel of Jesus; he spent the latter part of his life sharing the love of Christ, and planting and shepherding churches. When he arrived at Corinth for the first time, he was weak and weary from persecution, but God spoke to Him. He said, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people” (Acts 18:10). At that time, Paul didn’t know the Corinthians would struggle with pride, immorality, and repeatedly reject and accuse him. But Paul knew they were God’s people. God pursued them through their waywardness, so Paul pursued them, too.
The book of 2 Corinthians is a letter from Paul to the Corinthians and within its pages is the beautiful truth that God faithfully pursues his wandering church to bring them back to Himself. In this study we’ll see God’s reconciling love, His generous grace through the gospel, and His perfect power and presence in our weakness.”
I’m not on social media these days, and you all are one of the main ways these studies get out… would you consider sharing it with a friend or ministry leader? Thank you! And feel free to respond to this email and share if you’ve been able to do this study or a different one—I’d love to hear your thoughts! And talking about the Bible and especially 2 Corinthians is my favorite. :)
I loved writing letters to the girls through 2 Corinthians and I definitely had the most positive feedback from you all about the letters… (thank you!). So, this newsletter might become a series of letters to my daughters. :) Thank you all for reading this year!
We are so grateful for you!
